Rotary Club Meeting

VJ Kopacki will speak with us about Landmark on the Sound and other historic Des Moines locations. She is a seasoned museum professional with a Master’s in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University and a dual BA from Dickinson College. She currently serves as Executive Director of the Des Moines Historical Society, following leadership roles with the Northwest Railway Museum, Kent Historical Museum, Historic Sugartown, Pearl S. Buck International, and the National Park Service at Gettysburg.

VJ also serves on the 4Culture Historic Preservation Advisory Committee and the Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board as Historian. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about uncovering stories often overlooked by history and helping communities discover their place in the past to better shape their future.
