With your help last year, the Rotary Club of Des Moines and Normandy Park collected nearly 500 coats that were donated to local schools. This year, the Coats for Kids drive hopes to break the 500 mark to help keep more kids warm this winter.
If you have any lightly used or new coats, gloves, scarves, mittens, or hats consider dropping them off at any of the convenient locations listed below. Many thanks goes to the businesses, local government entities, and Highline Public Schools for allowing the coat drop off bins. The deadline is November 15th.
If you don't have a coat to donate, you can still help by shopping at a local retailer, or even a thrift store. If you would prefer to help by donating money, please contact Rotary Club, Community Service Chair, Dan Johnson at 206.914.3104.
One big mention is for the South King Firefighters Foundation. They wrote a $500 check for the purchasing of coats, thank you!
The coats will be handed out during parent teacher conferences from November 19th - 21st. Schools that will be beneficiaries of the drive are Des Moines Elementary, Midway Elementary and Parkside Elementary.
