Scavenger Hunt Clues
Mocha, latte or cold brew, what shop has your favorite coffee crew?
Sun to grow and a hose for showers, find some pots or baskets filled with colorful flowers.
Maybe a bear, or fish, or furry pal? Find a sign, statue, or logo with an animal.
Where do you go to beat the heat? Find a place to get a cold treat.
Did staying home have your style looking a little grim? Find somewhere for a cut, color, shave or trim.
No time to cook? You can still be a winner, find a place to get takeout for dinner.
Sometimes you need some help to stay afloat, find a place that can fix your boat.
When it’s five o’clock somewhere, don’t be sour; find a place for happy hour.
Are you a homebuyer or seller and not sure of a price? Find a place to get some advice.
Tacos, burgers, some banks too, find a business with a drive thru.
Hungry for mussels, chowder or a fish like trout? Find a seafood restaurant to help you out.
Shellac or gel, mani or pedi, find a place to get your nails ready.
Continue your walk and test your luck, find a business that has a duck.
Navy, sky and royal too, find a sign that has some blue.
Some are Michelle, John, Vince, or Jill, who will get the fame? Find a business that includes a first name.
You’ve seen a lot, we hope you’ve had fun, find a pizza place and then you are done.

Like/follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram.
Follow the clues to find 16 mystery items in the Marina District. Take pictures of your finds from outside, making sure to include a local business in each picture when possible. Try not to duplicate any businesses.
Share your pictures on social media July 11 and 12. Tag us on Facebook @destinationdesmoines and/or Instagram @destination_des_moines and using #desmoinesscavengerhunt
If you prefer not to use Facebook and Instagram, email us your pictures. This constitutes permission for us to use your pictures on our website and social media.
Participants will have their names entered into a raffle drawing for a prize.
For a bonus raffle entry, tag or mention in your post (or include in your email submission) three of your favorite Des Moines businesses.
While you’re taking your pictures, keep an eye out for local artists’ work displayed in select businesses and for sidewalk chalk stations set up along Marine View Drive.
